More than 830 industry members attended this year's Building Industry Gala at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel last Thursday. The industry celebration honored this year's top builders, remodelers, suppliers and individuals. WCCO's Jason DeRusha was back to emcee the event. Tax Reform: Protecting Homeownership Incentives

BATC-Housing First Minnesota sent a letter to Minnesota’s congressional delegation on Friday, asking that popular homeownership incentives be protected as Congress takes up tax reform. The letter, sent to the state’s eight members of the House of Representatives and both United States Senators, outlines the importance of the Mortgage Interest Deduction and Property Tax Deduction and why these provisions should be retained.

Keith Downey (R, Edina), former State Representative and past chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota, met with Housing First Minnesota leadership on Monday. Among the many issues discussed were Minnesota's regulatory environment, the construction workforce shortage, and the role of the Metropolitan Council.
