JLP+D is excited to welcome Ben Margolis to the JLP+D team as firm Principal. In this role, Ben will help clients deliver on major economic and community development initiatives while helping broaden the firm's expertise and reach as we continue to grow our national practice.
In his three decades of economic development and policy work, Ben has gained experience in multiple sectors. He has been at the helm of an innovative nonprofit, served as a senior economic official in NYC government, and helped an array of private clients and communities plan through mediation, uncover assets, develop catalytic projects, and create resilient investments. In addition to his work as part of the senior leadership at JLP+D, Ben is a Public Policy Fellow at The Design Trust for Public Spaces, has been a Visiting Assistant Professor in Pratt Institute’s Programs for Sustainable Planning & Development (PSPD), and has served on multiple nonprofit boards. He holds a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
