Topic: Trail building insights from the Colorado Rockies
Paul has 20 years of experience leading volunteer organisations across Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. Before joining the Colorado Trail Foundation in 2024, he served as Executive Director of Wilderness Trek, a nonprofit backcountry outfitter. He produced an award-winning documentary about his solo bikepacking journey along the Colorado Trail.
Paul will discuss:
- The mission and work of the Colorado Trail Foundation
- What works—and what doesn’t—in volunteer trail building
- How the foundation secures support for funding, logistics and legislation
- The foundation’s relationship with recreational users and the broader trail community
This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of America’s leading voices in trail stewardship.
