We're pleased to announce that two video seminars on prosthetic urology will be part of the program at next month's World Meeting on Sexual Medicine in Lisbon. 

As Dr. Steven K. Wilson, editor-in-chief of the Video Journal of Prosthetic Urology (VJPU), explains in his video invitation, the seminars will last two hours each and cover topics on penile implant and urinary sphincter procedures. 

The World Meeting will be held February 28 - March 3, 2018.  We hope to see you there! 

A combined drug therapy of dutasteride and tamsulosin can be an effective treatment for urinary symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH - an enlarged prostate), but patients might develop ejaculatory disorders. 

A study of 489 sexually active men found that after a year of treatment, men who took the fixed-dose combination were more likely to have adverse events compared to a placebo group. Ejaculatory problems included lower semen volume, retrograde ejaculation, and ejaculation failure. 

The findings were based on the men's scores on the Male Sexual Health Questionnaire (MSHQ). The BPH Impact Index and the International Prostate Symptom Score assessment tools were also used.

ISSM members are cordially invited to the Biennial Business Meeting of Members of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) on March 2, 2018 at 7:30 AM (CET) at the Lisbon Congress Center (Praca Industrias) in Lisbon, Portugal.

The business meeting coincides with the World Meeting on Sexual Medicine and will be held at the same venue. 

Elections for the Board of Directors will take place at that time. Please note that only full ISSM Members in good standing, who have paid their current 2018 dues before February 2, 2018, will be eligible to vote.
