Mundaring Arts Centre - Opening exhibition for 2020

Gallery 1 & 2 - Homo Eclectic
Hans Arkeveld is one of WA’s foremost artists and sculptors. This retrospective exhibition documents his 50-plus year multi-disciplinary practice and long-term engagement with the University of Western Australia Anatomy Department, and draws on his passion for the machinations and form of the human body as well as social justice issues.

Twilight mountain bike ride and accommodation package

Forge Farm Riding School and Artsportive are partnering to offer a special 16km twilight ride along the beautiful KepTrack between the villages of Chidlow and Wooroloo.
The package includes escorted ride, dinner and overnight accommodation at Fettler's Crossing in Wooroloo, plus a light breakfast and morning tea on Sunday. Capture the Light - photography refresher course
Saturday 8 February
Has it been a while since you've picked up your camera and forgotten what you once knew? Join professional photographer Anna-Mair of Capture the Light Photo Tours for this special 3 hour small-group refresher course, where you will cover all of the manual modes of your camera; ISO, metering and using picture style. You'll also be guided through different compositional techniques like rules of thirds, leading lines, foreground interest as well as looking at ways to train your eye to see a shot.
Anna-Mair has many years' experience teaching photographers from beginner to advanced. As well as the formal part to the session there will plenty of time to put the theory into practice. Workshop runs 9am-12pm. Find out more here.

Mundaring Arts Centre - Masterclass with Ben Joel

Celebrate the work of Hans Arkeveld, one of WA’s foremost and most influential artists during his retrospective exhibition Homo Eclectic in this 4-hour drawing workshop with Ben Joel. Using Arkeveld sculptures as subjects, this workshop will be directed towards:
- Drawing as an aid to the development of visual inventiveness.
- Boosting the skills and strategies of seeing, in order to draw with efficiency, speed, observational accuracy and purpose.

This month Mundaring Folk 'n' Blues Club welcomes the internationally renowned pipers Brighde Chembeul & Jamie Murphy, currently touring Australia exhibiting their extraordinary skills and haunting sounds of the Scottish small pipes and Irish Uilleann pipes. Sharing the bill; outstanding local musicians Mark Turner & Kane Shaw presenting an array of contemporary and self-penned songs on guitar and double bass along with Phil Beck, a stalwart of Perth and Australia's folk circuit having just returned from Tasmania's Signet Festival.
