Raw Nerve Applications Close 3 March

Metro Screen in collaboration with Screen Australia is looking to commission three NSW filmmaking teams (producer, director, writer) to produce short films around the theme ‘Second Chance’ to be assessed for broadcast on ABC2 television.

Twisted

ATYP have produced a Dark film, Twisted showcasing new writing from their acclaimed series The Voices Project, supported by Metro Screen through the Jump Start production subsidy program. Written by Georgia Symons (Metro Screen Young Screenwriter program 2011), directed by James Hartley and James Shepherd, produced by Dan Prichard and James Shepherd.

Congratulations to Brendan McDonnell on winning the $2000 Metro Screen Award for Best NSW Director at the My Queer Career Short Film Awards, Mardi Gras Film Festival (Feb 13-23). We also hear it is an outstanding year for the festival, fantastic news for everyone.

WORK AT METRO SCREEN: MARKETING MANGER (6 MONTHS)

Metro Screen is the home for the emerging screen community in NSW, where screen creativity, learning and diversity is embraced, encouraged and supported. We’re looking for the right person to manage our marketing activities for this six month maternity leave position.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the effective development and implementation of Metro Screen’s marketing strategies including design, promotion, event management and market research. This position works closely with staff and the CEO to deliver a coordinated approach to Metro Screen’s communications.

Reg Makes Contact has been selected as one of six filmmaking teams for Screen Australia’s short film program Hot Shots.

Ari, a comedy in which a high school geek earns the respect of his peers, was also selected - Produced by Metro Screen alumni Annmaree Bell and writer-director Alex Murawski.
