David will share his insights into Total and its global response to the lower oil price, and what this strategy means for Total's current and potential business in Australia.

David Mendelson is Managing Director of Total E&P Australia and is Total’s Group Representative for Australia. Commencing the role in June 2014, David is responsible for all of Total’s oil and gas exploration and production activities in Australia including the Ichthys LNG Project, the Gladstone LNG Project, and Total’s exploration activities.

David has 27 years of experience in the energy industry, working in the electricity business for 10 years prior to joining Total in 1998. At Total he has worked across a broad range of disciplines, including technical, planning, commercial and economic roles, and has been based in the UK, US and France. His most recent role before moving to Australia was based in Paris as Deputy Vice President New Ventures and Asset Management with responsibility for Total’s E&P acquisitions and divestment activity across the entire portfolio. David is a graduate of Edinburgh University with a B.Sc Honours (1st Class) in Computer Science and Engineering.
