Online Therapy Helpful for Breast Cancer Survivors
Women who survive breast cancer might benefit from online sex therapy, suggests a new study in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
Such therapy could help women cope with some of the sexual problems that can occur after treatment, such as poor vaginal lubrication, low desire, and painful intercourse.
The study involved 169 women. Roughly half received weekly online counseling sessions with a trained therapist. The rest were put on a waiting list for therapy and received informational booklets about sexuality after cancer treatment.
What did the researchers discover? Most of the women in the therapy group reported better sexual function.
Further details about the study, along with links with more information about breast cancer and sexual health, are available here.
