Season Draws to a Close

As the days get longer and the club season gets into full swing, it is time to wrap up another Higher Education GAA Season. With some fantastic matches throughout Feburary, March, and in some cases into April, 15 Irish Daily Mail Higher Education Championships were decided. Most notably DIT claimed their first Sigerson Cup title, completing a historic double while in hurling, back to back championship wins stand out for UCC (Fitzigbbon) and LIT Tipperary (Fergal Maher Cup in '12, Ryan Cup in '13. Congratulations to all our champions but a very special thank you to all students, staff and volunteers who contributed to another fantastic season..

Comhairle Ardoideachais wishes all students taking exams the best of luck in the coming weeks beyond that for summer plans and club/county GAA endeavours. Those of you travelling on a J1 may find some of the information below useful in planning for the hurling or football aspect of your trip.

Irish Daily Mail Future Champions Honoured

On Monday April 15th last  in Croke Park, the Irish Daily Mail Future Champions Teams of 2013 were the guests of honour as those selected were presented with their awards. The awards were presented by Uachtáran CLG Liam Ó Neill, former Meath All Star, All Ireland winner and Irish Daily Mail Columnist Liam Hayes and Ray O’Brien (Chairman Comhairle Aroideachais).....

GAA Youth Camp Coaches Opportunities

In 2013, the GAA in association with the GPA will hold camps in several counties for boys aged 13 -15. It is intended to hold the Football  camps from June 24th. – June 28th. and the Hurling  camps from July 1st. – July 5th. Camps are from 10.00am – 2.00pm.
