World Oceans Day is held annually on June 8. It's a global celebration meant to inspire us to think about our appreciation of the seas, bring attention to marine issues and honor ocean conservation successes. The week of June 8 is known as World Oceans Week. As part of this week's festivities, on June 6 at 9am, at the Explorers Club in NYC, Carl Safina will speak on an oceans panel featuring ocean conservationist Sylvia Earle and Palau's President Tommy Remengesau. You can find more information about this event here.
