Food Safety Updates

New Food labelling regulations are coming, are you ready?

As of December 2014, it is a requirement of food businesses to provide information on food allergens to customers. This applies to both catering, manufacturing and retail food businesses and applies to both packaged and pre-packaged food. 

There is flexibilty in the regulations to allow businesses handling open food to provide the information orally, and by way of signage and written information on menu`s. Food handlers will need to be trained on your allergen management procedure. 

The Food Standards Agency has provided guidance for food buisnesses and explains what you need to do to comply. Check out the following links:
