I know that many of you are putting together plans for possible extended school closures. This is a difficult time for everyone, and we want to help. As a reminder, there are many tools built into eChalk that can help you and your community weather an extended closure or support a temporary remote learning strategy. - Public Class Pages: Teachers can use their public class pages to push out daily assignments, links to learning resources, and other important information
during a closure. Public class pages are a quick and simple solution for teacher communication with students and parents. If your staff needs a refresher on creating class pages, this video will help.
If you do not have enough active user licenses to allow all teachers to manage their own class pages, we will gladly provide additional licenses for all your teachers free of charge for the rest of the school year to see you through COVID-19 emergency closures.
- The eChalk LMS: As a reminder, eChalk also has a built-in LMS platform to support online assignment management, assessment, grades, and more. This is a more advanced system than public class pages. If you are not already using the LMS, you will need to upload and activate student accounts. Your teachers may also require some training. If you believe the eChalk LMS would help you and your students get through the weeks ahead, contact us for help in getting your students set up. If you choose to use the LMS, we will provide free user licenses for your students for the rest of the school year.
- eChalk Notify: Notify allows you to push out emergency alerts to everyone’s mobile devices at the same time that you update your eChalk website. It’s a great way to keep your community informed of rapidly changing school information, and the emergency alert system is already included in your eChalk subscription. If you haven’t activated Notify yet, contact us to get started. Here are some tips for rolling it out to your community. Notify is included in your site license—you can
set it up today, free of charge.
Look for additional information and tips over the next days and weeks. We are here to support you in any way that we can during these challenging times. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need additional staff or student licenses, if you need assistance in getting started with these tools, or if we can be of help in any other way.
