New George Pentland playground now openA new and unique play space is now open at George Pentland Botanic Gardens – replacing the previously worn, aging equipment. The main feature is an amazing ‘Sprout’ play sculpture, designed by Melbourne sculptor Damian Vick. The two weathered steel trees sprout different play equipment including scramble nets, a tube slide and a disc climb. Frankston City Mayor, Councillor Michael O’Reilly thanked the community for their patience while the works were underway. “While the works took a little bit longer than we initially thought, due to the bespoke nature of the new equipment, the kids agree it’s a pretty awesome new playground, they’re loving it,” said the Mayor. “Council is proud to deliver and fund this new $700,000 play space and we can’t wait to see the children of Frankston City enjoying another of our City’s premier playgrounds.” Frankston celebrates top four foodies2018 Frantastic Food Safety Excellence AwardsFrankston City celebrated the cream of the food safety crop with the inaugural Frantastic Food Safety Excellence Awards in 2018.
