WORLD SCIENCE FESTIVAL BRISBANE BEGINS TODAY!!

From the Streets of New York to the banks of the Brisbane River, the World Science Festival Brisbane begins today, with a big-thinking, high-energy, supercharged celebration of science across five days from 9-13 March.

Some of science’s brightest stars making special appearances at the festival include Emmy awardwinning actor, author, science enthusiast and World Science Festival board member Alan Alda; Nobel Laureate physicist Brian Schmidt; pioneering marine biologist Sylvia Earle; celebrated astronaut Andy Thomas; renowned physicist, best-selling author and festival co-founder Brian Greene, and many more.

There will be a combination of free and paid events including performances, films, talks and demonstrations.

World Science Festival GIVEAWAY

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) celebrates 20 years of successful events with a fresh new look

BCEC is entering an exciting new era celebrating a remarkable milestone – 20 years of successful events, 20 years of experience and strong client service.

Against a track record of hosting high calibre international and local events including the 2014 G20 Leaders Summit, acknowledged as the ‘best ever’, BCEC has undergone a brand refresh.

With a strong and colourful new look and confident messaging with the credentials of hosting more than 17,000 events and 11 million visitors, BCEC is looking to the future.

As part of the new branding the Centre also launched a new mobile friendly website, making it easier for users to access information more directly and incorporating the new Next Level messaging.

Brisbane State High School Celebrates Excellence in our local community

Celebrate Brewsvegas 2016 at The Charming Squire

Brewsvegas is a grassroots, week-long Brisbane beer festival that celebrates all things great about beer.

The Charming Squire, will be in the thick of the thirst-quenching action with two exceptional events. 

Band of Brewers, taking place on Monday, March 14 at 6pm, sees the ‘big four’ of craft brewing in Brisbane join forces for a memorable Brewsvegas collaboration.

Brewers from Fortitude Brewing Co, Brisbane Brewing Co, Newstead Brewing Co and The Charming Squire will collaborate on a special single-batch beer that will be launched on the night and will be available throughout the week at all four venues.

The second event, UFCheese, held on Wednesday, March 16 at 6pm, will bear witness to a showdown between beer and wine – which matches better with cheese?

2016 Stand Tall Ball

BSB Members Rydges South Bank and the Children's Hospital Foundation are working with the Stand Tall Ball Committee and Orthotic Solutions to present the 2016 Stand Tall Ball.

The event aims to raise much needed funds for children with Cerebral Palsy and promises to be a fabulous evening of fun and fundraising.

Date - Saturday 16 April 2016
Time - 7pm - 12 midnight
Location - Rydges South Bank, 9 Glenelg St, South Brisbane
Price - $150 per individual ticket, $1500 for a table of 10
