COVID-19 vaccine required for all students
In accordance with the Philadelphia Board of Health’s new vaccine requirements announced on Aug. 13, Temple University will now require all of its faculty, staff, students and contractors to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Individuals choosing a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) must receive their first shot by Sept 10 and their second by Oct. 1, to be fully vaccinated by the Oct. 15 deadline.
- Along with Health Services, the CVS and Rite-Aid locations on campus are distributing vaccines.
Due to surges in delta variant COVID-19 cases, and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Temple University is requiring the use of face masks for both unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals inside Temple buildings.
MOVING IN TO UNIVERSITY HOUSING? In a change from last year, students moving into university housing this year are welcome to bring as many people they would like to help them move. However, everyone in assisting with move in will be required to wear a face mask, so make sure you bring enough. When you are inside your room, apartment or suite, you can remove your mask, but they must be worn in all university housing common areas. Please note, all unvaccinated students moving into university housing for the fall will need to schedule a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of checking in.
