The North Coast Athletic carnival was held in Coffs Harbour last Thursday the 8th August with CHHS represented by a strong team of 15 students. All students performed really well throughout the day and gained some fantastic results, with seven students successfully progressing through to compete at State Athletics in Sydney in September. Madelaine Goodridge was the highest scoring athlete for 12-15 girls. Well done and congratulations Madelaine! There has been a swell of interest in Debating this year and last week Mr Hancock and Mr Leighton travelled with eight CHHS students to Bonville, staying at the Coffs Coast Adventure Centre, in order to participate in a debating camp. The workshops were delivered by the Master Academy of Accounting. The students also participated in mock debates against other schools to practise their newly developed skills. I look forward to seeing them in action in the future. The City to Surf always draws a large number of participants to the race each year. The tradition of supporting this event has continued with eleven students and eight staff competing this year.
