Meet Your Colleagues - Kwangsung Park
Our latest ISSM Member Profile features Dr. Kwangsung Park of Gwangju, South Korea.
An ISSM member since 1994, Dr. Park is currently the director of the Sexual Medicine Research Center at Chonnam National University and a professor of urology at Chonnam National University Hospital.
He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Sexual Medicine and serves as an associate editor of Sexual Medicine, the ISSM's open access journal.
When asked about the special challenges in working in his region, Dr. Park said, "One of barriers to treating a patient with sexual dysfunction in our country is the difficulty of approaching a patient with his/her partner. Most patients with sexual dysfunction visit a clinic alone."
He added that a lack of team approach among clinicians and issues with medical insurance are other obstacles.
