BATC Endorses Jeff Johnson for Governor

BATC has endorsed Jeff Johnson for election as Minnesota’s next Governor. Our endorsement reflects his commitment to a strong housing market and the belief that just as each home is important to the family that lives in it, housing is essential to the local, state and national economies.

We are confident that Jeff Johnson is a pro-housing leader who shares BATC’s goals of a balanced regulatory structure, housing choice, affordability for all, and economic strength for Minnesota.

Golden Valley Imposes 6-Month Subdivsion Moratorium

Amidst pressure from neighborhood groups who are looking to preserve large-lot single-family homes and community character, the City of Golden Valley has imposed a 6-month moratorium on subdivisions.

The moratorium will not affect teardown projects or other large scale remodeling projects that aren’t subdividing a property. In-process applications have been grandfathered by the City and will be allowed to proceed forward. BATC, along with the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors are engaged in discussions with the city and will continue our attempts to expedite the zoning updates necessary for the moratorium to be lifted.

RALLY 4 REMME!

On Friday, September 12th Brett Remme, of In-Focus Systems and longtime industry volunteer, suffered a debilitating stroke. After a week long stint in the hospital and a lot of hard work, he was transferred to a live-in rehab center where he continues to work on building his strength through therapy.

Brett has made great strides in the recent days, however recovery will take time – time that Brett will be away from work. To help Brett focus on pushing hard to get better, a group of his industry friends have joined forces to support him by helping with his financial needs through hosting this event.

We welcome you to join us for a fun evening of fundraising and support of our industry friend! Tickets will be sold at the door (Cash Only), or online with Credit card, but RSVP is preferred.
Please RSVP for free or purchase tickets here >>
