Celebrate South Bank’s 25th Birthday with a Parklands Picnic this October
Sunday 8 October - 10am-4pm

It’s a day of fun, food and festivities at South Bank’s Picnic in the Parklands, celebrating 25 years of Brisbane’s most popular public space.

Coinciding with the annual Brisbane Open House weekend on Sunday 8 October, South Bank will be buzzing with activities and visitors just enjoying the green grass in the spring sunshine.

The program includes live music, children’s activities, free fitness classes, roving street entertainment, face painting, markets and performances from local community groups and schools. Streets Beach will also be open following its six-month rejuvenation, ready for the first splash of the season.

Visitors are encouraged to pack a picnic blanket and a basket of goodies; or dine alfresco at one of the 50+ restaurants and cafes in the South Bank precinct.

South Bank’s Picnic in the Parklands is a free event. Visitors are encouraged to travel to the Parklands via public transport – buses, trains and ferries all travel to South Bank Parklands on a regular timetable.
