Summer Flights on Delta's Large 757s
Delta Air Lines is offering at least three daily flights on larger Boeing 757 aircraft this summer. One of Delta's Milwaukee-Minneapolis flights uses a 757-300,which seats 224 passengers and makes it the largest passenger aircraft serving MKE on a daily basis. Two daily Milwaukee-Atlanta roundtrips are on 757-200 aircraft. Book your trip today at Delta.com.
In-Line Screening Takes Flight
Mitchell Airport opened its new In-Line Baggage Screening facility in June, and the SUV-sized screening machines have been removed from Ticketing. Baggage is now screened in a new state-of-the-art facility, using the latest baggage handling technology.
Removal of the old screening machines, which had been in place since shortly after 9/11, means passengers can once again leave their checked baggage at the counter with the Ticket Agent, instead of having to move it to a TSA agent. This expedites baggage processing, improves customer service, and frees up space in the Ticketing lobby.
The new building is 24,000 square-feet and has more than 3,100 feet of conveyor belts. The new facility ensures that luggage travels from the ticket counter to the aircraft in the most secure and efficient manner possible.
Get Your Boarding Pass On the Fly!
Southwest Airlines is the latest carrier to offer mobile boarding pass functionality here at MKE. Just check-in using the Southwest app on your smartphone, choose the mobile boarding pass option, and display your boarding pass at the security checkpoint and at the gate. It's that easy!
More Passengers Choose MKE
Demand for air travel from MKE is increasing in 2014. Passenger counts at Mitchell Airport increased for the fourth consecutive month in May. April 2014 was up more than 6 percent from April 2013.
Travelers are changing the way they find flights and book tickets, and all of MKE's airlines are benefiting from that. Because Southwest Airlines flights do not show up on third-party websites like Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity, some travelers were missing out on more than half Mitchell's nonstop routes. The best option is to always research and book tickets directly on airline websites.
MKE offers nonstop flights to 36 destinations coast-to-coast, many on full-size mainline aircraft, and 150 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection.
