ASUM continues to advocate for all ultrasound practitioners, whether providing comprehensive examinations or point of care ultrasound to drive clinical management of a patient, there is a role of both to work side by side. COVID-19 has highlighted this as cardiopulmonary ultrasound playing a key role which ASUM has emphasised to government, requesting investment to support those in critical care and emergency departments to better manage patient outcomes while reducing further risk to colleagues across multiple disciplines, or supporting triage of these patients to streamline the outcome for all.
