The Teacher Capability Assessment Tool (TCAT) is an online tool that all applicants for our Master of Teaching courses must complete, and it takes around 70-90 minutes. What is it used for? Your TCAT results will be assessed as part of our selection process. Rather than asking applicants to write something like a personal statement, we use TCAT as a way to assess if applicants have the aptitudes required to thrive in a career in teaching. What kind of questions do I have to answer? TCAT will ask you a range of questions covering different themes, such as your motivations for teaching, personality traits, and cognitive reasoning skills. Do I need to prepare? There is no preparation required, make sure you read the instructions carefully, and take the time to sit somewhere comfortable and quiet while you complete TCAT.
