1. EU pork exports grow in September as Rabobank sees ‘extremely strong’ Chinese beef demand in 2020

The EU has experienced a record month for pork exports, bolstered by Chinese demand. With pork shortages pushing consumers to other proteins, pork prices increasing now means beef is more affordable, which should lead to “extremely strong” beef demand in 2020, Rabobank said in a new report

7. Salmonella concern prompts chorizo recall

Ottawa, Canada-based Usine Amsellem Inc. is recalling Amsellem brand Solo Chorizo Dried Beef Sausage from the market due to possible Salmonella contamination, the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a news release.
