Desire May Change After 3 Months of Hormone Therapy
For transgender patients, sexual desire might adjust after three months of gender-affirming hormone therapy, according to a recent Journal of Sexual Medicine study.
In a 36-month study of 766 transgender people, researchers used the Sexual Desire Inventory (SDI) Questionnaire to assess solitary and dyadic sexual desire. (Higher scores indicate higher levels of desire.)
During the first three months, SDI scores decreased for transgender women and increased for transgender men.
