2nd Grade eNews

Please don’t forget we are out of school Friday, March 16. The following week will be our Spring Break March 19-23. We will see the students again on Monday, March 26. Enjoy this time with your families!
Please keep this newsletter. These will be all the things we will work on when we return after our break.

Week after Spring Break

Bible: We will be learning about Martha and her faith. Our story comes from John 11.
Verse John 11:25: Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.”
Reading: We will work on the skill of drawing conclusions. Our story will be “The Goat in the Rug.”
Spelling: Words with the suffix ly or ful. The two review words use ed and ing: helpful sadly hopeful thankful slowly wishful kindly useful safely painful mouthful weakly quickly wonderful jumped saying
Grammar: We will work with irregular verbs such as have, has, had and when to use them.
Math: Review of carrying, borrowing, multiplication, word problems, three digit addition & subtraction, geometric shapes, identifying shape patterns, symmetrical figures, parallel and intersecting lines, and sides and corners, and fractions.

Important Dates

March 16: NO SCHOOL
March 19-23: NO SCHOOL – SPRING BREAK
March 30: NO SCHOOL - GOOD FRIDAY
April 9-13: This will be the week of TN3 testing – we will test beginning at 8:15 a.m. until lunch time at 11:00 a.m. Please do not schedule any doctor or dentist appointments during this week if at all possible. We do not make up tests.
