On May 26, 2016, CPC Queens School-Age Child Care Center at PS20 Program Director Lois Lee was honored for Professional Excellence at the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) Comprehensive After School System of New York City (COMPASS) CARES Professional Achievement Awards.
Over 70 CPC Adult Literacy Program students rallied alongside nearly 700 other students, teachers, allies, and elected officials at City Hall park in support of increased funding for adult literacy in the city's final budget, which will be adopted by Mayor Bill de Blasio in a few weeks' time.
In collaboration with E-Son Media Production and WeChat USA, CPC has been working on a short film to bring awareness to the impact of HIV/AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) on a traditional Chinese family and the community.
On Saturday, May 7, 2016 CPC Brooklyn Community Services hosted their 7th Annual Health Fair & Family Day at the Sunset Park Recreation Center. The event brought 35 organizations and community partners, performers and 1,000 members of the community together to share health resources for the community and celebrate healthy living for the whole family.

On April 22, 2016, CPC's NY Chinatown Senior Center celebrated the reopening of its kitchen after repairing a gas leak discovered in Spring 2015. For the safety of the seniors, gas to the kitchen was turned off for many months while repairs were made. Senator Squadron and Councilmember Chin were instrumental in helping CPC bring many parties together to expedite the reopening of kitchen.
On April 21, 2016, CPC celebrated their latest collaboration with Time Warner Cable (TWC), opening the CPC Queens TWC Learning Lab in the CPC Queens Community Center. This is CPC's second TWC Learning Lab launched with the generous support of Time Warner Cable, providing state-of-the-art technology such as tablets, smart-boards and digital book readers, and high-speed Business Internet and TV services (provided through Time Warner Business Class) to the Queens community.
The families of CPC's Queens School-Age Child Care Center @ PS20 worked with documentary director Jenny Schweitzer and Aeon to produce a short documentary on "satellite babies". The short documentary titled From the US to China and Back Again by Age Six: Why Satellite Babies Struggle discusses the social-emotional impact of being a "satellite baby".
