No images? Click here Remember May 2020? The full fury of the pandemic and the lockdowns in Melbourne and around the country? Scary times. BOFA Online was conceived then and we became the first online film festival in the country .. and we decided to be FREE as our way of pushing back against what this virus was doing to our lives. And here we are again, with Melbourne and Victoria in lockdown and the numbers shooting up again. So, instead of closing our free online film festival at midnight last Sunday we decided to say “Let’s take a deep BOFA and push back again”. So, BOFA ONLINE IS STILL LIVE AND FREE UNTIL SUNDAY 13 JUNE! That includes Melbournians and anyone else who hasn’t seen all our great free films. Go tell your friends, especially those in Melbourne and Victoria! Oh, and our Icons of Tasmania have the perfect antidote to winter or lockdown blues – Tassie’s finest wines, spirits, food, products, experiences and accommodation. Check them out. The Judges Awards and the People’s Choice picks were announced in Hobart last Saturday. What a great way to restart viewing BOFA Online for another two weeks. The Judges Awards went to: 1. Rare Breed, directed by Thomas Field People's Choice Awards went to: 1. Dinosaur Man, directed by Luke Scott and Zara Dawtry Special thanks to Tourism Tasmania, Brand Tasmania and Forty South for their support with prizes and promotion. Note: Available for viewers in all states and territories of Australia ONLY. Geo-blocked for other countries. WHAT TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY?We just received this email saying” Thank you to all those involved in inspiring and delivering BOFA 2021 online. It has been a delightful, thought provoking, wonderful season.” Which got us thinking: what films took your breath away – and why? Send your written answer to director@breath-of-fresh-air.com.au or tell us via Facebook by 13th June and the 10 best entries will win prizes worth over $1,000 in total, including a sumptuous meal at Black Cow restaurant, a round Tasmania tour, Pennicott wilderness tour (for 2), aromatic Jam gin and liqueur, sweet honey mead, truffle condiments and fine Wines of Tasmania. ENJOYED BOFA? THEN, PLEASE DONATE.Tens of thousands of viewers have had their breath taken away in our FREE Online Film Festival. We hope you were one. But, we are STILL a long way from our funding target to cover our online festival costs so we’d greatly appreciate YOUR help with any amount small or large. Donations are tax deductible. Many thanks.
