Hello everyone!

I'll keep this week's intro short and snappy and just share one of my favourite new newsletters/projects with you: Branden Harvey made spreading only good news his mission. Subscribe to his newsletter to hear about heartwarming stories, like this barista who decided to learn sign language to better serve a deaf customer. Don't let the Trumps of this world get you down!

Have a great week!

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A credit card-sized, flexible phone tripod
01

What a wonderfully creative idea: a plastic card (no bigger than a standard credit card) that transforms into a highly flexible smartphone stand. It's currently exploding on Kickstarter.

Easy contracts for freelancers
02

I was one of those freelancers who never bothered with getting clients to sign contracts. It's a bad practice that luckily hasn't come back to haunt me – yet. (Knock on wood.) Don't make the same mistake. Check out Bonsai to generate a contract from vetted templates.

Furniture made from cardboard
03

Ok, as a guy who makes a print magazine I might be biased, but I love everything about raw, untreated cardboard. That's why I instantly fell in love with the idea of Karton, an Australian business that builds furniture and storage solutions 100% made from cardboard. There's even a bed! (Currently ships to Australia only.)

An ultra-simple timer for your menu bar
04

Whether you're a fan of the Pomodoro Technique or just want to set a timer for your two-minute noodles, Tadam is a beautifully simple timer app for your menu bar.

A wifi router for crowded spaces
05

Living in a small apartment surrounded by about 20 wifi signals, I experienced the problem of 'airwave congestion' (i.e. slow speeds) myself. Portal is a new type of router built for inner-city living. According to their website, Portal has been "specifically engineered to cut through and avoid congestion, delivering consistent, high-performance WiFi with greater coverage throughout your home." Sounds promising. Currently on Kickstarter.

Quick 'n' easy internet speed test
06

Talking about internet speed, Fast.com is probably the easiest way to quickly test your internet speed.
