Public Health England has just launched a new Smokefree Health Harms campaign this January in the North West and nationally. The campaign highlights the impact and serious damage that smoking causes the heart, brain and lungs. The campaign also highlights that smokers are twice as likely to die from a stroke as non-smokers.
TFF has already helped to generate great media coverage in Manchester, Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire & Merseyside. Andrea Crossfield has appeared on BBC Radio Manchester and Cumbria. TFF has also provided each locality with editable resources to promote the campaign and increase quit attempts locally.
There are also many helpful tools for people looking to quit this new year with top tips and a new guide on how to quit released by Professor Roger West.

TFF has produced a short film to highlight the impact of smoking in cars carrying children. Local celebrities star in the video to support the TFF and British Lung Foundation campaign. At the end of the film viewers can vote for a ban on smoking in cars carrying children and send a letter to their MP. Over 3,400 people have viewed the film so far. Watch the video and vote here. The story has been covered in
Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria and Cheshire & Merseyside.

Hi and welcome to your January e-news. Happy New Year from everyone at TFF and I hope you all had a great break.
I mentioned in the December edition that we would be launching a short film highlighting the issues of smoking in cars with children. This is now live on YouTube and has proved very popular over the Christmas period with over 3,400 people viewing the film online so far. This is a brilliant response, thank you for all of your support. Please continue to share the video with colleagues and friends.
We have also had a busy start to January supporting PHE's New Year Quit campaign which launched last week. This is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of a national media campaign to drive local smokers to your stop smoking service.
