Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company has been added to the federally authorized list. Unlicensed Agents and Adjusters Remember to conduct business with agents and adjusters that are propery licensed. Many residents in the Florida panhandle were affected this year by Hurricane Michael. As insurers continue with their claims processes, it is important to make certain they are conducting business with agents and adjusters that are licensed in Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) maintains an active list of all properly licensed surplus lines agents and adjusters. This listing can be located at https://licenseesearch.fldfs.com. Please review this listing to ensure the individuals that you are actively doing business with are properly licensed. Insurer Filing Checklist The FSLSO has recently released a comprehensive checklist to assist insurers with their quarterly and annual premium filings. Last quarter we highlighted our Batch filing process which is used by over 75% of surplus lines insurers to submit transactions to our office. This quarter we would like to highlight the transaction effective date. Keep in mind when you are submitting data to our office the reporting period is actually one quarter behind. For example, the second quarter ends on June 30; however, we are allowing insurers to submit premium from the first quarter (transactions effective from January 1 - March 31). Therefore, use transaction effective dates for your submissions that have effective dates within the reporting period. It is also important to note premium totals that are submitted may not reflect an accurate amount for the reporting period. Transactions included either manually via SLIP or in a Batch file that need to be submitted for a prior reporting period will not be included in the reporting period's total premium amount. If you would like information on how to set up a Batch filing account or would like to view important information required for your premium filings please visit fslso.com. www.fslso.com Have questions?
