Software modifications

SMA driver: Item number 421.040

  • New function: The driver automatically identifies unknown inverters.
If the file with the correct inverter type is missing on the data logger, automatic identification is initiated. The inverter is registered and read out. It is no longer necessary to request the file with the correct type from meteocontrol Technical Support. An Internet connection to the safer'Sun portal is required to use this function.

  • If the inverter produces error messages, the alarm message now also shows the SMA Event Number. This makes it easier to identify errors.

SMA-Central Modbus driver: Item number: 421.088

  • The driver has been extended to support the following inverter series: SC nnnHE, SC nnnHE-10, SC nnnHE-11, SC nnnHE-20, SC nnnCP and SC nnnHE-US. These inverters can now be used.

Satcon Modbus driver: Item number 421.094

  • As of now 16 instead of the previous 12 possible string currents are read out for the AE-500-50-PV-X-HV inverter.

All drivers

  • All drivers now support Modbus TCP addresses 10.0.0.xxx.

  • All drivers now support the UMG 96 RM power quality analysers from Janitza.

  • Automatic DST change-over in the WEB'log can now be deactivated manually via the WEB'log web pages.

New: Universal sensor mount

The universal sensor mount is particularly used when installing irradiance sensors in direct proximity to PV system modules. This enables the irradiance measurement to be carried out next to the modules.
The first mounting surface of the sensor holder is fastened directly to the PV module at the same tilt and is therefore perfectly suited for mounting sensors to measure plane of array irradiance.
The tilt of the second mounting surface is adjustable, however, and can therefore be used in a horizontal position for installing pyranometers.
The universal sensor mount provides space to install up to two pyranometers and up to four irradiance sensors.

New inverter portal alarm

For higher error detection coverage we added the "inverter alarm" which is available in addition to the existing inverter comparison alarm.

The new alarm is triggered as soon as the tolerance level for data availability or the specific yield falls short. The alarm is active between sunrise and sunset, but the interval is reduced by two hours respectively in order to avoid false alarms.
The ratio of the imported measured values to the expected interval data is referred to as data availability. The tolerance of the specific yield determines the maximum possible deviation of the specific yield of an inverter from the specific total yield of the system.

In order to activate the new alarm, first initiate the check for new monitoring functions:

Then you have the option of activating the alarm and configuring the tolerances according to your needs:

New data logger administration function

Using the new data logger administration function, it is now possible to delete data loggers from portal systems. This function is available to portal administrators and makes it easier to move data loggers to other PV systems.

meteocontrol handles major international projects

meteocontrol uses its expertise and many years of experience to support global photovoltaic projects, even before ground is broken. meteocontrol is also a popular partner for multi-megawatt projects. Our employees are currently working on site for a major project in France. We are also supporting another project in the megawatt range in Mexico.

The PV markets abroad offer enormous growth potential, but also big challenges. Offering solid reports and independent consulting, we are able to minimise financial risk and ensure the project runs according to schedule by:

  • Ensuring quick financing for global projects through yield reports
  • Providing security during the planning phase through technical due diligence
  • Ensuring an efficient tendering phase thanks to sound technical consulting so that the grid connection is carried out as early as possible
