CHILDREN & YOUNG ADULTS

Welcome to our autumn newsletter! We are busy collating an exciting Frankfurt catalogue for you that we'll be sending out shortly, but in the meantime, here is an overview of the exciting news, reviews and deals that took place over the summer and a publication catalogue that covers July - December 2014.

In this issue:

Andy Griffiths' The 52-Storey Treehouse debuts at Number One in Australia (plus Guinness World record and UK sale!)

Andy Griffiths' The 52-Storey Treehouse, the latest in his phenomenally successful Treehouse series, has debuted at number one on the Australian bestseller list after an incredible first week of sales. The 52-Storey Treehouse has also inspired a Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Trees! Pan Macmillan publicist Charlotte Ree collaborated with the Australian representative for Guinness World Records to stage the record-breaking event, which was held at Ellenbrook Primary School in Perth.

Translation rights have been sold into a further four new territories for the Treehouse series (Germany, Greece, Poland and Taiwan) for a total of 12 territories. UK rights in the series have also been sold to Pan Macmillan.

Poached by Stuart Gibbs is nominated for SCIBA 2014 Book Award

Poached by Stuart Gibbs is one of the three finalists in the Middle Grade category for the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association (SCIBA) 2014 Book Awards. Nominations are made by booksellers, publishers, authors and other professionals in the bookselling industry and the winners of each category will be announced on 18th October.

Poached is the second instalment in the FunJungle series, after Belly Up, which deals with a new zoo mystery – this time a koala caper which Kirkus Reviews called a thrill-ride of a mystery” and Booklist described as “a lively caper full of fast-paced twists and turns”.
