To celebrate Fall, PMMI is hosting a Fall Festival at Unico Plaza on SW 5th and SW Oak on Monday, October 17th. From 12:00pm-1:00pm, enjoy free Fall-themed treats, hot drinks, music, and more! Attendees can also pick up a free PMMI bike light to keep safe while riding. 

Come learn about the upcoming Parks Replacement Bond renovations at a public open house on Monday, September 26th at the Portland Farmers Market at the Square. Look for the Pioneer Courthouse Square tents from 11:30am-2:00pm, and get information about bond-funded renovations, the project timeline, and the public art pieces at the Square.

In 2014, the Portland community voted to support the Parks Replacement Bond, a measure to issue up to $68 million in general obligation bonds. The money from the bond will pay for the capital costs of repairs and improvements to existing park facilities. Bond outreach identified strong community support for prioritizing restoration of Pioneer Courthouse Square, the much loved City’s “living room”. The 2014 Parks Replacement Bond includes a not-to-exceed allocation of $10 million for all phases and costs associated with the renovation project at the Square.

Come celebrate the great work Clean & Safe does every day to make downtown livable. For the last seven years, Downtown Clean & Safe has hosted a Clean & Safe Appreciation Day. Each year, Clean & Safe gathers members of the district, the Clean & Safe board, and the Portland City Council to celebrate the men and women who make downtown Portland a clean and safe place to live and work. We also honor a Clean & Safe officer, Downtown Cleaner, and Downtown Champion.

This year’s Clean & Safe Appreciation Day is on Friday, September 30th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Director Park. The cleaning and security activities will begin at 10:00am and the ceremony will go from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Each fall, in order to keep tree limbs clear of sidewalks and the roadway, PMMI completes tree pruning along the transit mall. PMMI has completed pruning between Burnside and Irving streets. Crews will "triage" the Mall south of Burnside to remove dead or broken limbs and to clear foliage.

In order to maintain a polished downtown, PMMI asks businesses on SW 5th and SW 6th avenues to take part in tending their respective landscapes when possible. This includes weeding the tree wells in front of each business.

Additionally, PMMI recently provided touch up painting to all of the transit mall benches on SW 5th and SW 6th avenues and to many of the street light poles. These initiatives are part of PMMI's year-round commitment to maintaining the downtown transit mall.
