Like most schools in New Zealand, Rhode Street School in Dinsdale, Hamilton promotes the benefits of a smokefree lifestyle but has taken a step closer to supporting its school community (including staff, whanau, and local residents) by aiming to become smokefree as a whole community.

New resource from FADE

New resource from FADE

The Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Education (FADE) will shortly launch its new tobacco resource into secondary schools. The resource Smoking…You Have Messages Waiting replaces the previous well-sought after brochure Smoking…Every Breath You Take . This fresh new brochure with its focus on text language provides up-to-date information in an attention-grabbing way for its target audience of Year 9/10 students.  Included with each brochure is a student activity sheet which has a range of ideas to stimulate action.  Each activity is linked to an appropriate achievement objective as detailed in the Health & PE Learning Area of the NZC.

Smoking…You Have Messages Waiting will be sent to Health Coordinators at the beginning of March so keep an eye out for it!  You can also visit the FADE website for other teaching and education resources.
