Canterbury Rugby League gear up for opening game

Canterbury Rugby League are hosting an opening event on the brand new Community Fields this month. This much-anticipated match pits the Rockcote Canterbury Bulls’ against the Warriors’ InTrust Super Premiership side.

Ngā Puna Wai’s community fields will be available to stage the momentous occasion – which has now swelled to two matches thanks to the addition of a women’s fixture.

The Ngā Puna Wai opener is part of a jam-packed timetable before the CRL club competition gets underway in April.

Tickets for the historic rugby league event are $10, with children under five admitted free. Come along to celebrate the new home of Canterbury Rugby League!

We're on track!

Tennis Courts. Asphalting has been completed on the 12 tennis courts and fencing is 80 per cent complete.  The acrylic surfacing works have commenced with the bulk of construction on target to be completed by end of February 2019 and operational in April 2019.
Rugby League. RL1 field was sown on 3 Feb 2019 with a 12-14 week grow-in period and has a good grass strike.  RL2 final preparations are underway for grass to be sown next week.  The last of the Rugby League light towers are planned to be lifted into position from 25 February 2019 with final commissioning planned before the end of February 2019.

Grass has struck on the Rugby League 1 field.

Change Village CV2 and the Hub Building received their Certificates for Public Use earlier this month with both buildings operational for the first International Hockey Pro-League match on Friday 8 February 2019. Well done everyone!

The Tennis Courts are on track to be fully operational in April.

Hockey highlights
