Hi friends
Welcome to Drive South Africa's February Newsletter. The festive season has simmered down, leaving a few singed bank accounts in its wake, and the gears of 2011 are back in full motion, our focus now shifts towards Namibia and the approaching 4x4 safari season.
4x4 safaris typically require careful planning and a fair amount of lead-time to ensure you get exactly what you need for your safari. This month we explore some of the 4x4 and off roads trails in Namibia as well as some camping and safari trips in the desolate splendour that is South Africa's western neighbour. We've also got some beginner photography tips to help you better capture those magical moments, and a series of action adventures to keep your adrenaline levels topped up.
March sees the 33rd annual Cape Argus Cycle Race take place on the Cape Peninsula, this is the largest timed cycle event in the world and with more than 30,000 entrants, promises to be another terrific occasion. Tamzyn has an exclusive interview with Penny Krohn, 8 times World Master's Cycling gold medalist and Cape Argus Veteran, competing in her 27th consecutive race, and we've included a post about the history of the event and this year's route.
For a heads up on all our rental specials, competition details and road trip information join our facebook and follow us on twitter social media channels, you can also send this newsletter to a friend.
We love hearing about the adventures and exploits you get up to in Africa, if you've got a story to tell, we'd love to here about it. Please get in touch with tales of your adventures.
For those of you planning a trip into Namibia you're in for an amazing adventure, and to all of you riding in this year's Argus, good luck!
Andrew and the Drive South Africa Team.
