CARFEST- Big Thank You to Majestic!

We had an amazing time at Chris Evans' Carfest this August bank holiday where all proceeds go to UK children’s charities. Olly hosted the new Starfest stage, interviewing Paul Ainsworth Glynn Purnell, Michael Caines, José Pizarro and  Angelica Bell, but things soon got out of hand when Alex Horne turned up wtih a Taskmaster challenge.......

A huge thank you to Majestic who provided the wines for Olly's demos on the Kitchen Stage where he paired some Spanish stunners with José Pizarro's cooking.

Olly's back in the BBC Saturday Kitchen studio this Saturday 6th September so tune in, and if you can't wait until then, here are a couple of Olly's Hot Bottles to get stuck into….

HOT BOTTLES

WHITE: Reyneke Organic Chenin Blanc 2018 (13.5%) £10.99 Waitrose. This is one of those whites that tastes far more expensive than it should. Up there with world class purity and richness, this star from South Africa is as at home in your glass alongside nibbles on the sofa or crowning the table with a Sunday roast chicken. I can’t think of a finer drop for this season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and it is worth every penny of its eleven quid price tag.

RED: Agenda, Dão, Manager’s Choice 2016 (13%) £7.99, Majestic. How slick is this prime Portuguese blend?! Superb savoury richness surges through vibrant red fruit culminating in a kick of woody spice. All the complexity of a first class red wine minus the hefty price tag - if you’re looking for an autumnal all-rounder, this is it.
