The Office of Research and Graduate Education sponsored the first WSU Vancouver Three-minute Thesis contest last Friday. Seven doctoral students presented their research in engaging three-minute talks. Megan Slaker, neuroscience, won the competition. She will move on to the final contest at WSU Pullman. There was a tie for runner up between Elena Mahrt, zoology; and Phil Uribe, neuroscience. Other participants included: Eric Dexter, environmental science; Jeff Hoyt, neuroscience; Matt Lambert, zoology;
and Amber Strother, English.
Special thanks to Allison Coffin, assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, for running a great event and to the judges and participants as well.
