It was not entirely unexpected but the world is still reeling from the news that the US is withdrawing from the Paris Agreement.
But all is not lost, says Bill Hare. Although it will likely make it more difficult and costly overall to meet the targets of the agreement, the US withdrawal could cause other countries to reaffirm their commitment to fighting climate change.
