Back on track

The Charity Commission recently published the results of its latest monitoring and investigation activity. Entitled Back on Track it is aimed at raising awareness to help particularly charity trustees avoid problems that have led other charities into serious difficulties. The report identifies weaknesses in both finance and governance arrangements as common issues where Commission intervention has been required. You can find a copy here.

Trustee vacancies

It is Trustees week at the end of October. To make sure WYCAS focuses on the needs of service users we aim to have five trustees - one from each of the five districts in West Yorkshire - who are appointed from the groups, associations and charities we serve. Currently, we are looking for service user representatives from the Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees areas.

Does this include you? If so and you are interested in the work and future success of WCYAS and would like to know more about what being a trustee involves, we would be delighted to hear from you! Please contact us for further information.

How well are we serving your needs?

We want to see how we are performing and how we can improve further. We have just sent out our 2011 service evaluation form to all the organisations we have worked with in the last year. If you have used our services, please do fill it in. We would really appreciate your feedback. Responses are also important to show funders that there is a still a need for our services. You can also complete the survey on-line.  Thank you!
