As we move through December, we can look forward to the upcoming celebrations of Hanukkah and Christmas later this month... followed by New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in January. These festive occasions bring us together as a community, and your Championship Board wishes each of you a season filled with happiness, peace, and togetherness. Holiday Lighting in Eagleton ![]() Earlier this year, we asked our management company to consult with each HOA in Eagleton regarding the preferred timing for turning on holiday lighting. The general consensus was to do so just before Thanksgiving week. We hope that by the time you read this article all of the HOAs will be illuminated for the season. At the most recent Championship Board meeting, the timing of holiday lighting was revisited. The Board noted that many neighboring communities, including BallenIsles, Mirasol, and Old Palm, had already turned on their displays for the 2024 season. In light of this, the Board decided to propose starting our holiday lighting earlier next year, urging all HOAs to join the Championship POA in illuminating their displays beginning November 1, 2025. We value your input on this matter. If you have strong feelings about the 2025 timing — whether in favor or against — please share your thoughts in the questions and discussion area on the Championship website. General Drive Entry Enhancements The committee overseeing the General Drive Entry improvements initially aimed to complete the project before the return of our first seasonal residents in early October. However, delays from suppliers and contractors, compounded by the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Malcolm, extended the timeline. Despite these setbacks, we are pleased to report that 99% of the work is now finished, well ahead of the larger influx of seasonal residents expected in early 2025. ![]() Key elements of the project are already complete. The stone cladding on the walls has been installed, the tops of the walls and swing gates have been freshly painted, and both the Eagleton signage and the American flagpole are now in place. Additionally, landscaping updates in and around the gate area are nearly finished, further enhancing the entrance's appearance. ![]() With only minor touch-ups and final details remaining, we are confident the project will be fully completed in time for the end-of-year holidays and the arrival of more homeowners in early January. We hope everyone will appreciate and enjoy the enhanced resident-only entryway. Once again, we value your input on this matter. If you have strong feelings about the General Drive improvements, please let us know in the questions and discussion area on the Championship website. Navigating South Florida's Roads ![]() As the season picks up and more visitors return to South Florida, our roads become noticeably busier. Whether you're running errands or heading to holiday gatherings, it's important to stay alert and drive safely amidst the increased traffic. Here are a few key reminders to help everyone share the road responsibly:
With more drivers unfamiliar with local roads, there may be unexpected stops or lane changes. Keep a safe distance and watch for potential hazards. South Florida's warm weather encourages outdoor activities year-round. Be mindful of crosswalks, bike lanes, and pedestrians, especially in high-traffic areas. Put your phone away and focus on the road. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents nationwide. With holiday festivities coming into full swing, it's crucial to make responsible choices. If you plan to celebrate, arrange for a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi. Roadways are a shared space, and a little kindness can go a long way. Signal your turns, merge with care, and give other drivers the benefit of the doubt. The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department plays an essential role in keeping our community safe, especially during these heavily traveled times. Their dedication to traffic management, accident prevention, and public safety is something we can all appreciate as we navigate this busy season. By driving responsibly and showing appreciation for those who protect us, we can help ensure a safer and more enjoyable season for residents and visitors alike. Let's work together to make South Florida's roads a welcoming place for everyone this time of year. OUR ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
