Join the University of Louisville Parents Association for our first ever Coffee and Conversations on February 27, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meet other UofL parents, experience a great local coffee shop that is on campus and is frequented by UofL students! We will meet at the Tulip Tree Cafe (Heine Brothers' Coffee) located inside Ekstrom Library to have an informal chat and connect with other UofL parents. It's a great way to talk about any thoughts or questions you may have this semester. Come visit the campus and see what has changed since you were last here! Coffee and other refreshments are available for purchase. Parking is available inside the Speed Art Museum Garage for an hourly rate. We would love for you to attend!

Students are invited to attend an alternative Spring Break

section image

If your student is looking to take a trip away from Louisville this break, but hasn't made any plans, encourage them to go on an alternative Spring Break to help others! The University of Louisville has one service trip planned this year with heading to Asheville, NC. The trip will focus on Food Literacy by partnering with a local YMCA to educate others on nutrition and sustainable food sources. The cost of the trip is currently priced at $250 and includes transportation from Louisville and back and throughout the trip, meals, lodging, background check, orientation materials, and excursions/museum fees.

Spring Cocoa Cart

On February 22nd, as a part of Winterfest, First Year Initiatives is having their semi-annual Cocoa Cart! It's exactly what it sounds like--a cart with FREE, delicious hot cocoa. Your student can even top it off with treats such as whipped cream, marshmallows, and chocolate syrup! Tell your students to be on the lookout as the cart moves across campus. They're offering free pencils and great study tips to boot!

Encourage your student to download New CardSafe app

UofL is implementing several new programs to enhance campus safety this fall. Those new programs and many of the university’s existing safety efforts have been merged into one comprehensive program, CardSafe, and featured on a new safety website Louisville.edu/CardSafe.

Inclement Weather Info

section image

We are right in the heart of cold weather and winter weather possibilities, so just in case, this is a continued reminder of the inclement weather policy. UofL makes the decision only after reviewing weather forecasts and checking with local agencies and UofL police and physical plant departments. This is not an exact science, but the goal is to continue to provide an outstanding educational experience while working to ensure everyone’s safety.

For a list of all UofL severe weather policies and announcements visit the page link in the button below.
