Rob Cameron takes an alternative view on the Barclays crisis praising the work of the majority who work there. Some of whom have been working tirelessly to build a solid foundation upon which the bank can restore itself and make a better contribution to society at large. 

In early 2011 Michael Sadowski called for banks to better explain what responsible finance means to them as a way of restoring trust in the sector. Which banks, if any, have made any improvements in disclosing what responsibility means to their operations, products and services? Diagnosis of the event was universally downbeat and Geoff Lye, veteran of the original Earth Summit, does little to dispel this view. However, Mark Lee writes of the private sector commitments and actions that inspired him and also calls for business and citizens to demand more of the elected officials that represent us at such forums. Lindsay Clinton provides more detail of the positive
alternative commitments that came out of the summit and Jeff Erikson explores the implications of the failure at the summit to make any progress on ending fossil fuel subsidies.
