Research Update

Linked below is the detailed Import-Export Report for June 2020. 

As we provided you earlier this week, key findings are below:

  • Volume trends improved significantly from May 2020. June 2020 volumes were down 15.1% and are -13.8% year-to-date
  • Mexico volumes were down -7.9% for June and are -13.4% year-to-date following brewery closures for April and May.
  • With continued on-premise closures, volume of draft beer continued to take a significant hit in June, down 85%. Year-to-date volumes are now down more than 50%.
  • Ireland and Germany appear to be helping with can package shortages, with both reporting significant volumes in June 2020 compared to June 2019.

Please note that the numbers reflect updated information published by the Department of Commerce for 2017-2019.

Future 2020 Import-Export Reports will be released on:

  • September 3
  • October 6
  • November 4
  • December 4
