New good practice guide – Charting in Excel

Following on from the success of our guide on Presenting financial and other management information effectively - currently our most popular download - we have recently published a follow-up guide on some of the practicalities of presenting information.

Using Excel for Charting gives a basic introduction to charting for users of recent versions of Microsoft Excel. It is a very simple illustrative step by step guide to creating and editing charts and will enable you to present your financial (and/or activity) information visually.

It might be helpful to read the new guide in conjunction with the earlier guide – which aims to help with thinking about how to present information and includes some good practice principles and ideas. The ‘Using Excel for Charting’ guide is about the practicalities of implementing these ideas.

The guide is available for free from the relevant page on our website under the governance heading.
