NCTRC Welcomes New Board MembersAs a result of the recently conducted Board election, NCTRC is proud to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. Melissa Davis, M.A., LRT/CTRS, Jerome F. Singleton, PhD, CTRS, and Peter Gagliardo will officially join the NCTRC Board in April 2018 and serve a three-year term from 2018–2021. - Melissa Davis, M.A., LRT/CTRS resides in San Antonio, Texas. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Winston-Salem State
University and her Master of Arts degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies/Recreation Administration from the University of Toledo. Melissa has 4 years of experience in TR and is currently a Recreation Therapist at San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Her job duties include responsibility for providing age-appropriate recreational therapy services to persons hospitalized for psychiatric care, conducting individualized assessments, planning and facilitating age appropriate group activities and completing clear, concise and timely written documentation.
- Jerome F. Singleton, PhD, CTRS resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He earned his Bachelor of Art degree in Recreation from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science degree in Recreation from Pennsylvania University and his PhD in Recreation with a TR emphasis from the University of Maryland. Jerome has 35 years of experience in TR and is currently a Professor at Dalhousie University.
- NCTRC has recently appointed a new consumer representative to the Board of Directors, Peter Gagliardo. He will also serve a three-year term beginning April 2018.

May Recertification and Annual Maintenance ReminderIs it time to renew your CTRS® Certification or pay your annual maintenance fee? NCTRC will be sending an email reminder with information on how to log into MY NCTRC LOGIN to pay your annual maintenance fee or submit your recertification application via your dashboard profile. Please make sure your email address is up-to-date to ensure that you receive all email communication
from NCTRC. Please contact us if you have any specific questions pertaining to your annual maintenance or recertification.
May Recertification Exam OptionPlease be advised that certificants who are at the end of the five year recertification cycle can take the NCTRC exam to meet the requirements for recertification. The May 2018 exam is the only exam that can be completed to meet the May cycle recertification requirements. The registration deadline for the May 2018 exam is May 4, 2018. Please visit MY NCTRC LOGIN to complete the exam registration application via your dashboard profile. The dates for the May 2018 exam are May 7–19, 2018.
