Debjani Bhattacharyya
Debjani Bhattacharyya, PhD, assistant professor of history, received a fellowship to be a visiting scholar at the International Institute of Asian Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands. She was also elected Professional Division Councilor for the American Historical Association.
Chris Sims
Chris Sims, PhD, assistant professor of psychology, received a $742,736 NSF grant for the project "Collaborative Research: Visual Training in the Geosciences by Training Visual Working Memory."
Alison Novak     Imaani Jamillah El-Burki
Alison Novak, PhD Culture, Communication and Media '14 and Imaani Jamillah El-Burki, PhD Culture, Communication and Media '12, are co-authors on the book "Defining Identity and the Changing Scope of Culture in the Digital Age." The book also features work from Greg Niedt, current CCM PhD student, and Rachel Reynolds, PhD, associate professor of anthropology and of CCM.
Mimi Sheller
Mimi Sheller, PhD, professor of sociology and director of the Center for Mobilities Research and Policy, will be the PARGC Distinguished Visiting Scholar in Global Communication at the Annenberg School of Communication, University of Pennsylvania, this fall. Sheller was also awarded a production grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts to produce a documentary film, "Fly Me to the Moon," based on her 2014 book "Aluminum Dreams" (MIT Press). She has been invited to present the book and film at the Tropenmuseum in the Netherlands during her sabbatical, and to teach a related course on critical approaches to infrastructure at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Don Charles, PhD, professor in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science, received a $105,633 NSF grant for the project "Collaborative Research: Neotoma Paleoecology Database, Community-Led Cyberinfrastructure for Global Change Research."
Jiu Jiang
Jiu Jiang, PhD, MD, research associate professor of biology, received a $300,000 Neilsen Foundation grant for the project "SCI-Induced Deficits in Memory T Cell Response to Virus Infection."
Phillip Ayoub
Phillip Ayoub, PhD, assistant professor of political science, published the book "When States Come Out: Europe's Sexual Minorities and the Politics of Visibility" (Cambridge University Press).
Robert Brulle
Robert Brulle, PhD, professor of sociology, was awarded a $102,745 NSF grant for the project "Collaborative Research: The Role of Information and Influence Campaigns in Structuring Public Responses to U.S. Policy, 1988 – 2015."
