Adviser Corner: Creating a Budget, What to Consider

Written by Dan Bliss

For new advisers this can be a daunting task. And even for experienced advisers, there is always the potential to be taking risks. However, the idea of creating budgets for different student council events doesn't have to be so stressful. And I do recognize that not every school can afford to spend the same amount of money as other schools. Not all of us have the same resources in economics and fundraising opportunities. Accommodating Transgender Students

Written by the attorneys at Lusk & Albertson

From Caitlyn Jenner to "I Am Jazz," the transgender community has recently gained national attention in the news and pop culture. Simultaneously, issues relative to accommodating transgender students and employees have grown in schools and workplaces across the country. Despite the various issues that transgender students and individuals face, federal and state law, has been slow to address these dynamics and Michigan law does not provide guidance on the treatment of transgender individuals.
