Hi friends!

Anyoung haseyo! This week from Seoul where I'm doing a one-on-one workshop about magazine making (and eating way too much Korean food). I'll be posting a few photos from our workshop on Instagram, if you want to follow along.

It's been a few weeks in the making, so I'm excited to finally have my indie publishing buddy Elliot as a guest editor in TMD. If I remember correctly, Elliot was one of the first people I followed on Twitter, and as such he became a huge inspiration in my early years as a web designer (and still is). Who'd have thought I'd have him in my newsletter one day!? Take it away Elliot...

(By the way, if you'd like to support TMD and present your company/product in a future issue, I've now opened up available sponsor slots through Syndicate.)

Have a great week!

Kai

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A dock for your Macbook
01

Using a Cinema Display with your MacBook is great, but I always get frustrated with all the wires and fiddling around. This dock looks like it could change that: elegant, neat, and no fuss.

A cleaner for your Mac
02

I’ve used CleanMyMac for a long time and recently upgraded to the latest version. I’m glad I did: it cleans so much more space than v2, it’s practically saved me from buying a new iMac.

A quality lense (with case) for your iPhone
03

Moment have already made some pretty amazing lenses for the iPhone (and other devices) and their new case furthers their mission to equip mobile photographers with professional-grade tools.

A powerful photo editor for iOS
04

Snapseed isn’t new and it’s even been a while since Google acquired the app and re-released it with a host of new features and their Material Design UI, but I don’t think it gets enough love. It’s a seriously powerful tool for mobile photographers and I use it regularly before taking the output into other apps like VSCO and Instagram

A veggie patch for your office
05

Growing your own vegetables needn’t be a hassle: the Plantui is so neat and self-contained, you can do your growing right from the office! It’ll bring a bit of greenery into your workspace, too.

A compression tool for images
06

Not new and not sexy, but if you work on the web and care about file size, consider running your images through ImageOptim. And, if you’re dealing with semi-transparent PNGs, be sure to check out its companion app ImageAlpha, which shrinks them to a fraction of their original size.
