What's up with the LISC Phoenix Event?

How are your fall plans going?

At LISC Phoenix, we figured we wouldn't be able to have an in-person event this year, and yet we started dreaming and planning for how we could keep the spirit of our Annual Community Awards through some live-streamed and in-person components. But as the Delta variant has spread, even those modest plans are being thrown into question as we prioritize keeping our staff and community safe. So we wanted to give you an update about where "the event" stands. 

What we know: 

There are awesome organizations and individuals in our community development sector who deserve as much recognition as we can give them. 

Our plan has been to bring attention to their work and accomplishments throughout the month of October by telling their stories in honoree spotlight columns and social media portraits of impact and feature them in a virtual panel discussion. We were going to top that off by bringing the celebration to them with an award delivery site tour attended by an exclusive group of sponsors and supporters and live-streamed to all of you. 

What we don't know:

What does it mean to deliver awards in-person to honorees working virtually? Will it feel safe to bring our sponsors along for the tour as we had hoped? We're not quite ready to pull the plug on our ideas, but we're also not ready to commit to them.
